Topic Wiki

If your video is not embedding, see if your link starts with "http:" - if it does, change it to "https:" and it will work.

If a video isn't embedded you should assume it may be inappropriate for some people.

How do I embed a Youtube video?
Simply post the YouTube URL.
Alternately (actually, this may no longer work):
Click the "youtube" button on the second row on the furthermost left side.
You will now have the words: in your editor.
Now, copy and paste the youtube video id (youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0&x=y) in between the middle brackets in order for it to look like this:

and leave out this part of the link: "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v="

Or you can paste the YouTube link, highlight it, and then click on the "YouTube" button. This will encase the link in the youtube tags,
Now just click "post" and you're done!

How can I search if a video has been posted here before?
This is not foolproof, but it's a good start.
Search for the youtube ID (youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0)

While it's true that haters will be haters, no matter which video you show them. However, there are many in-between people, who can get a very positive impression from these videos, which IMHO is a tremendous Kiddush Hashem, especially for not-yet-frum Jews who also can gain a lot from these videos.

Just look at the comments.
Wow. I didn't know the extent of the Kiddush Hashem.
Are there any other videos in YouTube with only one-sided
positive comments?

Hi!

When I realized that Mr. Simintov’s Tefillin needed to be replaced, I offered him to use my Tefillin but he wanted to use his own. The best and only way I could help was to get him new ones.

Glad you got him the tefillin when you did, and hope there are no plans to visit him anytime soon! Would be very interested to hear any insights you may have into current events from your time on the ground there. @bluestrings

What a story. Is the Sheriff right? Would more training really prevent something like this? Also, how hot is the ejected shell casing?

He's part of the self-appointed security team for a shul I used to belong to. I've long said we'd be safer with no security than with untrained/undertrained security.

The shell casing is very hot, definitely hot enough to leave a burn. Usually it just hits you for a split second and you barely feel it but if it gets stuck in between your shirt it can be quite painful

I'm asking about hangun owner training in this specific situation. Even of someone has 10 or 20 hours of training, getting a burning hot piece of metal down their back is likely to have them act instinctively. The Sheriff's assertion sounds wrong to me, I'm looking for a counter-perspective. Something along the lines of (and I'm not saying this is the case) if you hold the gun correctly with both hands, the casing won't go down your shirt in the first place.

Unfortunately I don't think it is the case
