Can we come up with a good way to comment on a previous photo or video without quoting it and effectively reshowing the pic/video all over again?

It's what everyone here does for lack of a better option, but I ( and I'm sure others) find it annoying and it makes a thread more drawn out.....
Two options I can think of for videos are:
1) Remove the youtube brackets from the quote to show just the url
Ex.

(problem is then no one knows which video you're referring to unless they click on it or match it up by name and time)

2) Copy the title of the video on youtube and paste that into the quote in place of the original text.

A teenage boy who is terminally ill and is supposed to pass away in June 2012 is getting from a close friend a book as present from his favorite author.
The book is supposed to be released only in July 2012!
On top of it, the friend arranged for the guy to be called up by the author of this book.

especially scary, those cheap fireworks and little firecrackers etc have been produced very cheaply, with limited tests.

Imagine a little overdose of explosives in one of the bombs....

Every year people die from this.
