Topic Wiki

If your video is not embedding, see if your link starts with "http:" - if it does, change it to "https:" and it will work.

If a video isn't embedded you should assume it may be inappropriate for some people.

How do I embed a Youtube video?
Simply post the YouTube URL.
Alternately (actually, this may no longer work):
Click the "youtube" button on the second row on the furthermost left side.
You will now have the words: in your editor.
Now, copy and paste the youtube video id (youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0&x=y) in between the middle brackets in order for it to look like this:

and leave out this part of the link: "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v="

Or you can paste the YouTube link, highlight it, and then click on the "YouTube" button. This will encase the link in the youtube tags,
Now just click "post" and you're done!

How can I search if a video has been posted here before?
This is not foolproof, but it's a good start.
Search for the youtube ID (youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0)

While on the nostalgia theme, the following might actually bring back real memories for some 'round here. (not so much the Windows, as Windows prior to 2.0 wasn't really of any use, and even 2.0 was quite useless, but the boot up of the computer, the loading of drivers etc. etc.)

Here's a pop quiz: What are the sounds at about 10 seconds in?

Also of note, that the user didn't put in the obvious command (which should be in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file) "prompt $p$g"... (amazing how some things get engraved in one's memory).

Interesting thing noted is that he's not using one of the really old keyboards that only had 10 F keys on top, rather a later version with 12 F keys.

Favorite game would be digger or dig dug (names interchangeable)

Now available in online version here: http://www.futrega.org/digger/

Though it lacks the experience of playing the games with faster CPUs, going from 10MHz to 16MHz to 20MHz etc.

If you want to go back another decade then you would have to go to the original Atari Pong game.

The count to 640k brings back memories of assembling computers, with 4 rows of DRAM chips going first onto the motherboard, then putting in a video card and powering up, watching to see that all the RAM checked out OK before continuing with the assembly.

I have a friend that would ace the game on a 20MHz 386! While occasionally tilting his head to avoid a falling bag of gold
