True. Interesting strategy. Still going to cost them both big time.

It seems like each day Walmart is becoming increasingly more relevant than ever in the ecommerce space. If they spend billions to get millions of customers to create accounts and get used to free (2 day) shipping for orders over $35 it will be a huge win. OTOH Amazon has to outspend WM and the main benefit is retaining their (huge) customer base.

Please God give Walmart the strength to continue this battle.

The DD franchise is definitely benefiting from it.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Ha. Text books? Decades from now? I doubt they'll still be using text books then.

It's the click-throughs and the publicity that count.

I agree look even ddf equated them with Amazon. Just look at the new Amazon & Walmart deals thread.

Just think about it- Walmart has a couch with 3 in stock in Texas, and that's it. Create a huge pickup discount of 99% off so it's priced at $5. Wait for Amazon to match and sell a couple hundred grand worth of couches at a price that's less than the cost of shipping. Would be fun to watch.
Interesting thought, although I doubt that that's their strategy.

What if someone orders all three of those couches to be picked up in store in NY?

Then he could probably sell them to someone else on DDF.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

one thing I don't understand, all these ship to store orders were shipped using FedEx. Does it really save them by shipping to store?
