@Dan Yes I realize that. Any institution can base rejection on the fact that an applicant is coming from a weaker school (e.g. Oxford may likely reject my application to their MBA program with my measly Deleware County Community College undergrad degree). That Excelsior is accredited by the same board that accredits Penn has nothing to do with anything. That's like me pretending to be rich just because I use the same bank as Bill Gates.

As petty and bored as I may seem to be nitpicking on this topic, my point isn't to deflate the merits of Yesod Yosef. I personally earned a bachelors degree in a similar alternative program and was accepted into various grad schools in numerous fields (UMD, UMN, Johns Hopkins and UCLA). I encourage people stuck in the yeshiva systemn with no future to pursue such an option.

What my point IS, is to just try to keep it real. Yesod Yosef/Excelsior isn't the only viable option and it is certainly not the fail-proof messiah of accelerated bachelors degrees.

Sorry if I come across as a cheesy salesman. Maybe I am just practicing my lawyer skills just a bit to early. I hear what you are saying and of course like all things in life there is no guarantee, well unless you buy it with your platinum card of course.

JJ - nice to hear you want to be a lawyer. Just to let you know I came from Touro College and was able to get into some really good (yet debt inducing) law schools.  I had  friends in school with me who got their degrees from BMG ie Lakewood -so for law the name of your undergrad matters a bit but far far less than your LSAT. In fact going to an easy school can actually serve as a big advantage - like 30% or so of your desirability for a law program is based on your GPA - in Touro it was alot easier to get good grades (I felt) than it is at Penn and I hope Y.Y. is same way.

Quick Advice:  The most important courses for law school and life are Gemmorah and English.  As a yeshiva boy I came in at a big disadvantage not knowing how to write at all and learning how to write an essay and/or papers is essential for grades and for many law jobs.  If you can take any courses that will assist you in writing, grammar, force you to write research papers or train you how to do so, etc. please take them.  If you don't have a chance to take more courses at least get a self help book to improve those skills ie English for Lawyers. Oh and rock your LSAT ( worth hiring a tutor- it may cost you 1k but 5 points better will mean at least 5k a year scholarship or getting into a higher ranked program
