does plat get free breakfast?
regardless, i doubt tokyo would get as theres only one or two kosher restaurants and theyre falafel or meat from the rabbi

We are very sorry to inform you that we are not able to provide the Kosher meal from our kitchen.
However, we would like to assist you arranging the requested meal.

Since daily breakfast is included as a benefit of Diamond Member, the alternative option we can suggest is
to have you order from the Kosher Delivery Service accord to your need.
And we would cover the amount of our Daily Breakfast, 3,000 JPY, but any cost beyond that value
will be charged to your room account.

Attached is the menu we have obtained from the mentioned Kosher Delivery Service, and accord to their information,
the order must be made by 5:00 pm on the previous day.
As you can see in the remarks of the menu, delivery fee will be applied aside the meal cost.
Delivery fee to our hotel location during the day time (9:00 am - 6:00 pm) is assumed to be around 5,000 JPY and
in the morning ( before 9:00 am ), it may be around 7,000 - 9,000 JPY.

from a quick look on their website i would be quite skeptical re kashrus

the rabbi is conservative

They actually attached the http://www.kosherdelica.com/ menu. I also found this http://www.chabad.jp/templates/articlecco_cdo/aid/585721/jewish/Kosher-Food.htm.

It seems that there is 2 Chabads. Anyone know which one is "better"?

The Chabad.jp is the official shliach, Kosher Delica is the unofficial shliach.
Both are great guys, no idea which has better food though.

I think you can apply more pressure on the PH NRT staff to get them to foot the whole bill with delivery.

About Chabad House of Japan

In December 1999, Rabbi Binyomin Y. Edery received a directive from the Lubavitcher Rebbe, King Moshiach to open Chabad House of Japan. Since then, it has grown and developed incredibly. Among the many activities are educational programs for children and adults, Kosher food, Judaica Shop and library, soup kitchen for the homeless, material assistance for the needy, spiritual guidance and moral support, teaching of the Seven Noahide Laws. Our main goal is preparing Japan to greet Moshiach. Chabad House is open, 24 hours a day, 7 days of the week.

Lol...looks like he's a loon but he's not all crazy.

I went to Kobe in '05 to help the shliach there and while in Tokyo ate by the official shliach, Sudakevich.

My friend and I were exploring Tokyo one day and stopped in Kinkos to use their Internet cafe. While there in the metropolis of 13 million in walked Edery making a banner for Kosher Delica. Completely random timing, but we spoke and he seemed like a good guy...I would still eat his food is what I'm trying to say

They dont have to give you kosher breakfast at all, they are very nice and offering you something. Dont be so jewish and try to squeeze every last penny out of them. You are staying at a expensive hotel, what impression as a jew do you think you are making trying to squeese a few dollars for breakfast

I usually agree with you on this stuff, but in Japan they have no clue about Jews so I wouldn't hesitate to ask...

not every worker in the hotel will be japanese. Most managers are european.
Think of this request- hotelworker to director:" we have a jewish customer, that wants another free 10 Dollars for his breakfast, can you authorize it"
Have a little class when staying at a high class hotel!!

off topic, in that hotel they are extremely makpid on the rules. while in other hotels they would allow me to heat up food (double wrapped) in the kitchen microwave, they wouldnt let me do it in tokyo. only after begging and pleading, they brought me to the vacant presidential suite to use the micro there

rules = health regulations
