HELP: Chase Hyatt bonus
« on: May 14, 2017, 02:05:09 AM »
Hi,

Last year I signed up for the chase Hyatt, the card didn't come for a while and I did not follow up, after about 2-3 months I called them up and asked him what was the story and they said it was shipped so apparently lost in the mail. While speaking to them, I asked what will be with the sign-up bonus and after a little back and forth the representative said that I will be able to get it after spending 1000$ in the first 3 months from when the new card will be issued.

Recently I wanted to check if the nights were there, it wasn't. I called chase, the representative said that they only saw a note that my card was issued 3 months later and that she couldn't issue the nights' certificates so she will escalate it to some other service who would answer by mail. I just received a letter saying that ignoring my story and just saying that since I didn't spend the 1000$ within the first 3 months I wasn't eligible.

Any way to get them to honor their word?!

Thanks!

I had something similar happen to me with a marriott card last year. Card arrived late (was stolen) and didnt have time to meet the spending. They wouldnt honor the sign up offer.

Means nothing, unless you have something in writing you're probably put of luck but you can continue to try to escalate it.

What is the best way to escalate it further?

These things are hard-coded.

Try to get a supervisor to apply some Hyatt points as good-will.

You'll still qualify for the sign up two nights if you apply again in a few weeks or so :)

Seems like there is no 5/24 rule for Hyatt

Well anyone who is 3/24 and applies for a hyatt card is clueless so this whole discussion is pointless. He can apply for the hyatt card again since he can get it even if he's over 5/24. Stay on top of the card, do the spend and get the bonus.

Yep, not sure why anyone would do that.

Yup. People need to do more research before applying these days.

got the card in may of 2016, did spend. Went to log in and found 0 points, so I contacted and turns out I had 2 accounts opened by them, I believe they opened, so the member # on the cc card was actually not where the points went, got new cc and accounts merged.

This was like 9/24/16, they confirmed I had 2 free chase nights. I was going to use them for my sister in feburary but never did, now I want to use them and im told they expired ?!

#1 I never knew these nights expired #2 isnt it their fault they messed up my accounts ?

I also just found this email from december ?!?
