How does it work with taxes etc. If you are swiping x amount, wouldn't you need to report that?
I would think that the money is coming in to pay business fees, inventory, and expenses.
If there are funds to lay out for, or business rent, and/or travel, then those expenses can be deducted and not declared as profit.

Assuming one has a legitimate business. Though one may never be audited, if they would and don't have anything legitimate, may be an issue.

Of course. 100% legitimate. If they become profitable enough to enter a new tax bracket, then that would be its own bracha. Until then there are a lot of expenses. Additionally, accurate bookkeeping will be a good skill.
