DP: I’m at 4/24, but have a store card (amazon prime card).

I applied for CIP in-branch and got instant approval. Then applied for CIU on my computer and got AUTOMATIC approval after 2 days. I thought I’ll have to call and explain that 1 Card is a store card but that wasn’t the case. Is this new?

Read again. The store card is the 5th, so I was at 5/24 before first app.

Barclays apple is a CC or a loan?

Great question. Applied when I purchased something on apple and wanted to finance it, but the card is a credit card (0 intro APR for apple) and works everywhere and has a credit limit.

Maybe it’s this one: The first app was at BRM which is known to bypass 5/24, (though it wasn’t a paper app). Second was from a mailer I got with a code.

Recount your cards.
Is it so shocking that an app slipped through?

First page on this thread.

If you downgrading a card, for example sapphire preferred to freedom, does the freedom count as 1 of 5 for 5/24?

no

If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.

I applied for a Sapphire Preferred and World of Hyatt card within the same hour. I did a second application for the World of Hyatt card, after getting aproved, because I forgot to do it from a separate browser than the one I had signed up for Preferred on.
I was told to do the applications for both cards from separate browsers to increase my chances of the account not getting shut down.
I received the Preferred in the mail but without any notice the Hyatt card was closed on me.
I called the regular Chase number and they were no help
so I called the Reconsideration line and they told me that there was a second application for the same card (which is what i had done for the hyatt card) and for that and other reasons the account was closed and couldnt be reopened. I then explained that if my credit score is unworthy fro these cards why let me keep the Preferred? I am clearly in good enough credit standing for the cards it was just a mistaken second application, but they said they werent going to do anything.

A few days later I tried calling some executive line and explained the whole thing over to them and they told me they were going to look into it.

Does anyone have any advice?

First of all, The 2 browser idea to prevent shutdown is BS AFAIK.

Second, wrong thread.

Third, what made you think that another app for an approved card will prevent shutdown? Now, in fact you increased your shutdown chances, and not only for the hyatt card.

Forth, I would advise you to move on in order to prevent further shutdowns, and if you do not follow my advice, please at least try to prevent it by not talking so much and asking why your other card wasn't shutdown, do you really want to make them think that you may be right with this?
