How to keep points alive
« on: June 03, 2008, 05:37:19 PM »
I have 89k points in aa, i dont have and I dont want there credit card...

How do I keep those points from expiring?

I thought of doing a small transaction through points.com... Is that the best way?

Thanks!

Very often people cant just go places at the drop of a hat, allthough that certainly is a good way to use them.

I dont know about points.com, but you can usually buy a small amount of points (the minimum purchase obviously) just to keep some activity in the account.

Earn 10 miles for each dollar spent on flowers and gifts from FTD.COM®. Shop online at www.ftd.com/aadvantage or call 1-800-SEND-FTD, and give code 7017.

Buy the cheapest flowers for $20 - $25. Miles will be deposited into your account in 6-8 weeks. Check out all of your options at A"A's Website

You can just order magazines for just a few hundred miles thereby keeping all of your miles alive for another 18 months.

The cheapest flowers are $30+$13 handling.
Even as a single guy I would wager that you'll do far better going to your local Costco and picking up 2 dozen roses or something else that actually looks nice for a quarter of their price.
