Starwood Points --> AA Miles

Hi All,

First time trying to convert Starwood points to airline miles. If I transfer points to AA, how long are those points good for? I want to take advantage of the transfer bonus, but not sure when I'm booking the tickets yet. (Definitely within the next month).
