Ahhhh, glad to see amex is back with this offer.
FD have been offering this offer all along, but when combined with buying gift cards with amex.. It was very lucrative last year.
(Plus they have a referral program)

That order is just double what it would be if you buy it locally. What difference does it make how many discounts you can apply? Its still more expensive than if you buy it in a regular supermarket.

tried that, now its showing up on amex as "15 Jun FRESH DIRECT CATERING FreshDirect.COM
$75.00" - considering the wine charge came up as "FRESH DIRECT WINES (866)283-7374 NY
$89.13" they may say that "FRESH DIRECT CATERING" is not the same merchant as "FRESH DIRECT" just as amex rep said "FRESH DIRECT WINES" doesn't qualify as the "FRESH DIRECT" merchant

update: the gift card did trigger the offer :)
