Trying to get to Israel before shabbos Jan 18th, can only leave JFK on thurs. Only options that I see are El Al, the BA 8am, and Turkish shown below. Do you guys think landing at 11am in TLV to go to Jerusalem is too riskily close to shabbos (shkia 4:59pm)?

I don't know if this is possible, but figured I'd ask. I want to fly to Israel from NYC with a friend in about a month (Jan 20, and stay for 2 weeks), and would love to do it on miles. I currently have 20,000 UR points on my Freedom, and am working towards the spending threshold on a Sapphire Preferred. That should give me 60K miles - would that be enough? If not, is there a quick way to get the remainder of the miles I would need? I'm not against opening another credit card if that's what it'll take.

A friend would like to get to Israel ASAP, to get there for the dying moments of his father. He figures he'll stay for 10 days.

Anyone can find something reasonably priced?

If he can't afford to go now, he'll plan to go for the shloshim (halevai it's not soon).

The prices, because of yoshkas birth, are over $2000.

any ideas?

Is there a difference which airline i book on priceline (in my case elal) that i can within 24 cancel the flight a reserve a full refund?

I dont see it written anywhere on priceline abt this policy!

Thanks, just did it a few days ago with United and i did cancel, what i do see is that it can take a while till i get it credited back to my CC (even though it is only a pending charge) and it dosent let me use the Credit line on my card
