The carry on fee is relatively new, and it only applies above a certain size. So either that or you were lucky.

You sure that will work?
Try the website. They usually advertise cheap fares.

It definitely works with my type of voucher. When I purchase a new ticket using a portion of my voucher, they reissue a new voucher for the remainder with new expiration date.
I'm looking spend the least amount of $ on  a ticket to throw away. I checked united.com but didn't easily find any options. The cheapest Iv'e found is $70.

Will that definitely do the trick? I'm told that they might reissue the refundable ticket as a voucher with the same date. Anyone no for sure? The UA rep wasn't sure. Iv'e already done it once with a throw away ticket & that worked.

Good idea, however I'm nervous that if it doesn't work & I don't get the new paper voucher (with the current exp date) before it expires in a few weeks.

You don't always get a new voucher when you cancel a ticket, they may leave it in the PNR good only for the person you booked the ticket for.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

That's what I'm afraid of. I am therefore looking for a throw away, cheapest I found was lax-sfo for $70.

No free stop on CO/UA in the US48.
CO offers a stopover award for 35K.

Is that the only airline which offers it? are there any normal airlines e.g. aa,delta etc;?
