Thanks. Aeroflot flies through Moscow.. Has things quieted down there? Is it safe to fly from there?  Any alternatives?

I have a friend who managed to do it safely a couple of weeks ago. Another option would be to fly BA. You can use 10k Avios each way and pay the rest as fuel surcharges. It should still come out as pretty cheap.

Can you elaborate about the BA option?

Thanks

Assuming you have or can get 20k Avios, you can book them as award flights and use 10k Avios + cash each way.

I can buy from a friend Avios... how much are surcharges? And you recommend doing each way or roundtrip?

The whole point is that you are using less Avios and therefore paying more fuel surcharges. No difference if booked roundtrip or one way.

Then that option is out. I've never gone through SVO, so I'm not going to vouch for it, but:

Just spent a week there.

You do.

Not if you're in transit and aren't leaving the terminal.

Book with PRG for 10,500 points. That's enough Avios for a short-haul flight later.
