    After 7/31/18, pay:
        Line 1: $60/mo.

BUHP  Did you find out if this will work?  Have we established that you can switch to any unlocked SIM phone after?  Older Galaxy?
U can change phones later but it needs to be a sprint approved phone. Not just an unlocked gsm phone.

That's too bad. Verizon Prepaid - Apple iPhone SE 32GB only $199 from Best Buy.
Any good deals on Verizon iPhone 6 32/64?
There is a chance.... if you activate that iPhone with a vzw post paid sim it may render the phone unlocked. Unconfirmed though.

Does it make a difference if the SIM is already in use on a different phone or being activated the 1st time? Any idea the success rate?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

Verizon prepaid phones are locked, and can only be unlocked after 12 months of paid service.
With iPhone if you put in a postpaid sim first it will become unlocked

I'm talking about a Verizon prepaid iPhone

Do you know otherwise?

So I purchased a Verizon iPhone SE for $199.99 at BestBuy (now OOS, iPhone 6 still in stock at $299.99), was able to order a SIM card for a total of $15.05 ($10+tax shipping is unheard of) using the IMEI on the box, got a nice Experian pull, now waiting for the SIM to arrive and activate, before inserting the Sprint SIM I'm going to insert a Verizon postpaid SIM to get it fully unlocked
Inserted an active VZW postpaid SIM card into my prepaid iPhone, activated no problem, then went and inserted my Sprint SIM card and it activated no problem as well, so here we go.
Out of pocket:
$199.99 + tax ($13.75) for the phone
$15.05 for the SIM
$3.00 for unlocking a Google Voice number
Total paid $231.79 for 12 months of service that's less than $20 per month

I believe it depends where it's bought from. Bestbuy seems to work . Only for actual Verizon prepaid and not Verizon mvno like tracfone or total wireless.

I'm guesing it has to be a "Verizon" SIM (not PP or some other piggybacker)?

So I understand: I can buy the iPhone SE on sale from Best Buy, have my friend with postpaid Verizon line insert his SIM and activate phone with his line, move his line back to his original phone, insert my PP SIM, then order the Sprint SIM online...correct?

Will this scenario also work using T-Mobile instead of Best Buy and Verizon?

Will also work with Cheaper phones than the iPhone SE, including some factory unlocked
