Can anyone comment on how San Juan and vicinity is looking these days... considering a trip in January.  Hotels appear to be at or near occupancy... anyone with first hand experience?

i will be arriving to SJU on a wednesday at 5:30 pm and departing the following tuesday at 7:30. my main objective for this trip is privacy and relaxation. After reading thru the board, it seems like vieques or culebra is the way to go. as im tied to the ferry schedule and theres nothing past 6pm to culebra it seems like vieques might be the only option to go to after arrival. i would return to mainland monday to be on time for the tuesday am flight. am i thinking this thru properly or is there some other better way to plan this?
