Why are people scared of getting shut down and try to shut down themselves?

So they shouldn't have on their Credit Reports, account shutdown by Bank?

Or, it's harder to get approved with Amex, if they shut you down, and it's easier to get approved later if you shut down yourself?

Maybe. They say most credit checks are automated and it won't pick up on it, it will only be seen on manual cr check, but if your planning on applying for mortgage etc soon, may be risk to consider

That's what i think also. The last thing i want then asking me is why do i have five shutdowns on my report.

Charging suspended has nothing to do with FR . I get it all the time somewhere between 500K and 1M balance . Goes away as soon as I pay up .

Yes. Freezes at some point then I just pay on the last day I can.
