just got fr tried getting thru to my rep with no luck any advice for me i paid down all the balances already ... do i try to change my income in my profile(lower it)?    also i noticed that in my profile my assets are at zero if i have a few grand in a bank acct should i update that as well? or do i just wait it out and speak to rep

IINM this is all irrelevant. All that is relevant is your income on your 1040.

from what I understand they don't look at your profile. The income that they record you as having is the income you tell them when they ask you on the phone. So just wait it out until you speak to them.

Based on what everyone told me, one big rule: In whatever you tell them, be completely honest, and match your 1040.

Be nice to your rep.

Anything you say can and will be used against you. Don't say anything that you can't back up.

Chill. Many people get FRs, and they rarely shut people down if they provide documents requested. In most cases, you're just looking at a credit limit imposition or reduction.

ok just spoke to them they want my 2015 tax info the rep sounded nice  :)so do i send in the info even though its a fraction of what i wrote on the apps that i make? also i filed jointly with my wife and her account is fine as of now.... am i risking bringing her down with me by sending it in

FTFY for clarity .

1) yes . App doesn't matter . If you earned some income  , worst is that they cut your credit lines to what they see fit

2) it doesn't matter at this point . It's  possible it will cause her an FR but it's irrelevant.  I had the same situation and wife has been Scott-free so far (אתפל"ס)
 You should be fine no matter what if you're honest on phone and comply with what your rep wants .

If u have any reason to suspect why u got fr'ed in the first place, it helps to explain a little to the rep, the circumstances. (I. e. I had to explain a really large purchase.) They really just want to make sure that you aren't a security risk to them, so that they can safely extend you credit. Good luck! Its not as scary as it sounds

Hi I spent 60K on Amex Gold little less than a year ago and I got an FR.

 I had my amex account set up on auto pay and didn't have 60K in my account at the time.
Amex closed my account and said no way to open it back up.

Explanation given was that if you are under FR and something Negative comes up on the account causes automatic closure.

1) Do you think I stand a chance to re apply now?

2)Amex Sends me plenty of Platinum Application for my other LLC'S does this help?

How does one know if they got fr? They connected me to department but I hung hoping it was mistake...Should I call back?? would I get email?

Check if your spending is denied. You might get a phone call or an email or a letter in the mail.
