Amex F/R Master Thread

Spending a quarter million dollars in 2 months and my taxes are not that exciting do I stand a chance at staying opened ?
If I do get shut where should I turn for that kind of spending for the best points ?

It seems your chances are good to stay open, but they'll surely cut your limits.

As long as you're showing income, the trend is they'll just cut your lines.

They wrote its suspended and in 7 days if I don't call it'll be shut down

Anybody here went through an F/R, closed all their Amex cards and after some time had a smooth transition with applying for new cards without being requested F/R docs?

I got SPG 2 years ago and after having card for 3 weeks got FRd, now I applied for Amex Gold and got FRd even before getting approved, so IME it does NOT work.

It could be other people have better luck though

Did you close your cards, or did amex close them?

I requested them to be closed because of the FR, which on my credit report says '. Closed at customers requested'

about 5-6 yrs ago i had a starwoods card which was shutdown after a few months by amex because i couldnt prove the income i had claimed

You typically have 30 days to redeem/transfer them.

Actually if amex closes the account you will lose the points as per t&c;
 If for any reason we cancel any Linked Account (including because of your death, bankruptcy or insolvency), any points accrued in your program account will be forfeited. If we reinstate the Linked Account(s) within one year of cancellation, any points accrued in your program account may be converted into a participating Frequent Customer program or redeemed for a reward, provided all other conditions set forth herein have been met.
If you voluntarily cancel enrollment in the program or cancel all Linked Accounts enrolled in the program but keep at least one AMEX Card open and in good standing, you will have up to 30 days from date of cancellation to redeem the points accrued in the program account.
 I just got fr'ed, they closed my accounts and my points are no longer showing up.

If anything, they'll demand financial docs before approving you. And if they don't approve you - well, that's not called getting "shut down".

I get a Mazel Tov they told me they are not gonna shut me down just lower my credit !!!
They gonna wait till I pay off my bill then lower it
But quick question my wife's Amex account with 4 new cards has the please call that number on the account online , is that because of my fr or is she getting a separate one should I call or wait till mine is lifted and hope hers gets lifted to ?
