Got fr'd a couple weeks ago, sent the 4506t and they shut me down. I had 34k in spending which the statement closed on Dec 28. Supervisor by membership rewards said since card is cancelled points cannot be applied. Any ideas. (I tried huca)

I am just wondering - you sent in the 4506-t, Did you have a supporting tax return? Were your cards personal or Business?

HUCA is your only option, but seems like you are out of luck on this one.

Had tax return with abt 17.5 k, business card. Got fr'd as a result of putting through abt 70k within 2 months. Fought with them that they should just lower the limit on my acct, but was told although what im saying makes sense the decison was irreversible.

Did your tax returns show Business income (in any way to support Business spending)

YOu should be able to get back onto Amex, I would wait 6 Months, and start with Just consumer cards, till you have a Tax return that could support heavy business spending

Tax Return didn't show biz income, but spending was clearly business spending as I explained to rep. Didn't have more than 20k out at any given time.

That was the reason. The key factor is Amex need to see Biz income to survive a FR on a Biz card. If you would have spent less money, then there is a chance you would have passed with your reg tax returns, but in Amex eyes - you had lent to you $20k and that is more than your full tax return income - that is high risk.

Assuming they wouldn't, although perhaps a 1007 purchase at cvs times 2 may be suspicious in their books, hence the question. I have also read that Amex can find out what you bought although I doubt they actually check.

Bought 2.5 k on my spg 3k on wife's plat and 2k on wife's spg and hoping for the best.

I do not have a Amex card yet but I plan on getting one. So my question is can I give my cards to my father-in-law to use for his yeshiva/Kollel and therefore gaining points or will that trigger a F/R because he is spending a couple thousand on each card every month?

As long as the charges don't give them concern it should be fine. As always YMMV.

I don't recall who, but I heard from someone who had trouble for large purchases at Rite Aid. They found it unusual that large purchases were occurring at a pharmacy.
