Amex F/R Master Thread

I see that one of the reason for f/r is amex gift card purchases. Does this apply to going into CVS and buying a visa/MC/Amex GC for $500, do the CC companies know what I am buying at CVS and will that cause a F/R?

They can't tell on their end what you're buying, but its not hard to figure out what a charge for $503.95 at CVS means. So as long as you keep the spending down there's no reason for them to bother you.

Just got FR on a business account that's just on my name for ordering a total of 20 iphones from apple, 10 orders on 2 different authorized users, they asked what I'm doing with them so I said selling on amazon... They asked if this business is on my tax returns so I said no because even though I have the business for a few years I never did big sales to need to report, but I do have tax return from my regular job.
So my question is should I shut down the account before they do? And if yes what will happen with all my other personal cards? Or is there a chance that I'll pass with my regular tax return that has nothing to do with this business?

If the income on your tax returns makes sense with ordering 20 iPhones I would wait.

I just passed a FR with a biz card. The biz name was My Name Sole (as in sole proprietorship). Somehow when filling out the app proprietorship got lost. They asked what exactly my business did, as sole didnt really give them much info. I said online sales etc. and we were fine.

Last 2 times i called amex, they transfered me to fr departement. Lady asked some questions about some recent charges and that was it. It's kind of weird. Just passed an fr 2-3 months ago

I have a large purchase coming up that will go around 1k over my (6k) CL. Will Amex let it through, or do i have to prepay, thus exposing myself to an FR? (And how much of an FR trigger is prepaying anyway?)

I would really appreciate any and all input on my current situation.

Amex notified me today that they were closing my accounts. I had a 5k limit on skyblue used a low amount of revolving credit (under 20%) and just got approved a year later (a month ago) delta and spg.

They put me under F/R. This year much less on the books.

I called them multiple times to get through to my account manager and he NEVER called me back except right now to close my accounts.

Is there ANYTHING I can do?!

They said it was because my household income does not justify my credit lines and that because I applied for it the business decision was to shut me down
