Amex F/R Master Thread

Uh Oh!!!!

My wife just got hit with Amex FR.

We have plenty of income.  however, i dont know how to prove income from business on the biz cards.  please PM me with advice

If you don't have these businesses on your tax returns Amex will most likely not pass those cards, so you may want to preemptively close the biz cards.

you might wanna preemptively close all your cards including your personal cards, since you won't pass the F/R, even though the F/R was directed at your business cards, every thing under your name is sentence to death by the honorable king Amex

Just had a F/R last week, send in  only bank statements, everything went ok, they didn't lower my credit limit

Did they ask for the info when you applied?

Nope. Except that I made a very large purchase in the beginning (aka GC) and almost got FR'd again. The account specialist actually brought up the FR in our 45 min. Conversation but didn't do anything about it.

-1 There's really no need to close personal cards since he can still pass for the personal cards if he has personal income.

I think the bank statement option is history. There have been people that passed with bank statements, only to be overruled a few days later.

Help! was under FR and got amessage today to call my FR rep and just checked my emails to see my accounts closed! is there any hope when i call her tommorrow anything i should or shouldnt say? i sent in my tax returns just doesnt say anything about biz cuz it is new and is less income then i put on my app. Should i offer statements or i am doomed?!?

First of all relax! As long as you sent in tax returns your accounts wont be closed. However based on their review, they may hold you to a fixed credit line for 6 months even on a charge card.

Did you send them what they requested, in the time frame they wanted?

YUP! i did speak to the rep today and she wasnt sure if the irs accepted the form(2nd chance) because maybe the 1 looked like a 7 even though she said to her it was clearly a 1 do think i can get another chance i have 100k points gone!

The points is something that you should be able to transfer to out. Just call customer service. If it's a business account, it won't affect personal credit approval. As well as any other new business you apply for. (don't know how long you should wait to apply for the same business).

so I guess they closed your business + personal cards even though you could prove your personal facts? If so, then that's an answer to somebody upthread with the same issue

Just spoke to the rep and she told me my accounts were closed cuz not enough income(around 10k) anything i can do if this year its much more and have bank statements. Is there a point to speak to a supervisor? is it unreverseable?
