Did see anything, heres the Q; if my employer writes me out a check to amex from there acct to pay off my amex bill- will that cause a f/r?

Is it bad on my credit if they close me down vs me closing everything down? I mean besides for my altogether credit limit going down is their actively closing me down bad for my history? If yes, is there a way for me to preempt that and close myself down?

Apologies if this was answered in previous chats- if someone would be so kind as to point me where to look I'd love to read up on it. Any, and all tips are greatly appreciated.

technically, them vs. you won't lower your score, but it'll say on your report that it was "closed by issuer" and could hurt you when your score is checked out manually.

And if there's a way for you to close it down before them? Sure! Just call them up that you wanna close it...

Won't they immediately send me to talk to my "special rep" that won't allow me to close it...

If I understand what your saying, if I close it then it will say closed by user, vs. if they close it, it will say closed bcuz of isues? So it's a no brainer...?

Actually that's another question - How long till I can try amex again? (7 years? Cohen gadol dies?)

Yes, they will sometimes send you immediately to your special rep, and that's also not a problem, just tell the special rep that you don't have the time and patience for this whole verification thing, and you wanna cancel the account...

And on your 2nd point, yes, it's a no brainer...

On that same letter you'll get conforming your account cancellation it'll say that they're sad to see you go and they'll love to do business with you on the future...

Although you'll probably have to go thru a F/R when applying the next time

If you don't put in your CC number you will be transferred to a regualr CSR not FR CSR, so you could just ask them to close the card/s.

Since you're not blacklisted it shouldn't be that long before you can apply, but they'll most likely ask for tax returns.

YMMV in my case after only 6 months I got approved w/o any info.

I just checked my Experian credit report and I see by the soft inquiry section Amex account review. Is that standard or can this be the beginning of an f/r?

So 3 months ago I had to transfer out all my MR points due to a F/R, and the rep told that they'll have to charge me a $24 fee for transferring my available and still pending points out to delta...

Fast forward 3 months later...

I got today a check in the mail from amex for the $24... attached a letter:

"Dear xxx:

We are sending you the attached check to refund you for the Membership Rewards reinstatement fees you paid between March 11, 2013 and October 30, 2013. We did not send you the Membership Rewards Terms and Conditions, so you are not liable for these fees."

I Got fr'd for my personal and business spg cards. They asked me for the tax return . I sent it to them. They called me but I did not call them back because I Dont like surprise questions . Just got a email that my accounts are canceled.
How long should I try again ? Because I did send them the IRS form I just did not call them to discuss it with them. Am I blacklisted?
