British Airways Miles
« on: June 07, 2011, 01:37:18 AM »
I have 100,000 miles on BA
I am in Melbourne Australia and want to use them to come in to JFK, either a Roundtrip Ticket or maybe as a One Way ticket, which is better? If one way ticket, which Direction is Better to use them with?

Thanks,

How many mikes will it take to get from Australia to JFK? It seems to be 80,000 in Y but I am wondering if they are trying to route you through LHR making it more miles?

Have you done any of the research regarding the routings and miles needed?

Yes I have spoke to them and they said that it is 80,000 Miles.....for a Roundtrip,
The taxes however are crazy high, is there any better use for these Miles?
Like certain Places are better to use them then others?

Can I cancel a Cathay Pacific flight booked with BA points the same way I can an AA flight?
Will I get back all my miles minus the taxes?

The penalty is $40 per person or the taxes, whichever is less. In the case of a CX flight, where the taxes are generally more than $40, you'll receive a refund of the Avios, and a refund of the taxes minus $40/pp.

Where does one cancel a AA flight booked with Avios? AA.com? BA.com?

Thanks.

BA doesn't  show upcoming trips when you are logged in. You need the confirmation number.

Thanks.

BA doesn't  show upcoming trips when you are logged in unless the account holder is one of the passengers. Otherwise, you need the confirmation number.

FTFY.

My circumstances would support your fix.
