Just hung up with SPG about my 5 year old card.  They issued 4,000 points for me to keep my card open for longer and appreciated my loyalty.  Thanks Dan!  (sorry that you only got 3000 though...)

I know that really all the info is in the threads and noone likes to spoonfeed, but even though I spend a min of 1.5 hours  a day on DDF for about 4 years (nothing for a bochur - but tonz for a wife and mother of 3!) I do not have a gemarakup like many of you and cant seem to figure out what to do next! can someone please help!

4 yrs ago I opened for me and husb starwood
this year really wanted to do something instead of just reading and opened: citi AAdvantage cards for me and husb (i think we got 75,000 each)
amex charge cards each for the MR points (dont remember if it was 25,000 or 50,000), and the BA cards for the 100,000 points. husb also has an old continental from chase.

WHAT DO I DO NEXT?!?!? do i cancel these and get more? leave them and get more? move over credits?
Im nervous to mess my credit since I was rejected for a card this year - im assuming I didnt put in a high enough income cuz i do have a student loan on my name. since then I did get two cards though.
i just called to cancel BA and get back fee and he said no way! im assuming I should just call back?
bad taste for my first attempt at playing this game!!
mayb i can hire one of the experts out there?! :)

dont cancel ur ba card for one!! apply for another chase card such as the sapphire and offer to close the ba to get it opened if they dont approve it. also when u get rejected they usually tell u why what was the reason they gave. as for your question there a number of good card offers out there right now such as the 50k points for the sapphire which is a great offer. there is also the hyatt card and the amex gold and oat cards to consider

If you have the patience to list items on eBay, buy some items on sale on DD with your card and sell them on eBay. Do the math first to see if you'll at least break even after the eBay PayPal fees.

IMO, shlepping to the bank is a lot easier. Especially if you do it in installments and to different banks.

Havent been following the string- have you had those cards before?  or first time?

If you had them, did you cancel or downgrade and how long before reapplying?
Thanks

Not everyone has the same amount of free time as you do...
Answer could have been written in less words it took you to respond.  oy...

Not what I meant.. ch'v.  Just saying it would take a 10 word sum up or less.  Is that too much?

I'll give you the whole answer in three words, if two aren't enough:

It's churnable. YMMV.

Then my other point, as I have seven words left:

See my signature.

See, less than 10 words in all.

Ok- I got all that from the post that I replied to.  I went back in the threads and realized that Leeboy did not write how he did the churn and how long he waited after canceling.  Or how he managed to pull off 2 amex plat's.

Im looking to gain from those experienced.  Im sorry im still a n00bie.

but I am grateful for your prompt responses always.  sorry.
