Here's my concern: If I wait, I'm hoping it'll only be one pull, but if I call, I'm worried they'll perhaps notice the multiple apps and maybe repull?

I have three genral questions
1)what is the difrence between counsumer and a business card
2)whan i apply for starwood with the 3BM methud do i get 3 times the points
3)once i got it can i combine tham and cancal the other?

1. A consumer card is for personal expenditures, a business card is (officially) for business expenditures. You can apply for a business card claiming a sole-proprietorship e.g. an online (eBay/Amazon) store, or a lemonade stand etc.
2/3. Your definition of a 3BM is incorrect, a 3BM is applying (same time, different browsers) for different cards from the same issuer (e.g. SPG + Gold + Platinum all from Amex).

Hate to be a nudge, but someone I know really needs the answer.

Person signed up for a Plat about 3 weeks ago. Got the 50K, now wants to downgrade to something else with a lower annual fee and keep the points.

Has anyone done this successfully recently? (for their sake, i'll ask: no worry about clawback? (which was apparently mentioned by the rep on the phone) (DROPR?))

I'll try this one last time and hope one (or some) of you can shed some light. TIA.

I wouldn't worry about clawback of signup/spend bonus if the points already posted, I'd expect you to know that by now

If the person is somehow switching to a non-MR-earning card*, I'd be worried about them losing their MR acct if this is the only Amex card/acct linked to that MR acct.

*) AFAIK this isn't possible.

If you'd like you might be able to, e.g. transfer MR + SPG to Aeroplan. But you don't necessarily, you might transfer the MR to BA, DL or AC and use the SPG for hotels or something.

Dont downgrade to the Zync card, it is a MR card but a lower status, -you wont be able to transfer to an airline. Better go with the Green charge card, I think $25 annual fee.

I know the Zync card is only MR-Express (and therefore can't xfer to partners), I was only confirming that downgrading to Zync retains the points until such time as that individual applies for an MR-First card.
