5 points are not the same thing as 5%

And in regards to your coffee question for a $2 cup of coffee you would get 13 points with the freedom

Go read dans write up again. You get 10 points per transaction + 1.1 ppd so a $2 cup of coffee would be in between 12 and 13 points. That is when dining isn't one of the 5% categories. When it as add an extra 4 points per dollar spent

ok, gotcha, thanks, ya, i will have to re dig that one up, ive read thru a lot of them, but keep getting confused, i see the thread now, im sorry for bothering you, i get i didnt fully understand it.

though i dont get why im supposed to leave all my card s open, for example, i have this explorer card, lets say i want to sign up for a new chase card, - but i sort of maxed out credit v.s. my "annual income" (meaning as to what i write on applications. so why would the bank want to give me more credit  then the money i make annually, would i rather shut it dowen and then reopen a new card?

This way if they don't approve you they don't have to give you more credit they can just move it over.

I hear what you're saying but its "safer" to keep the credit you have and move it than to hope you'll get approved.

There are better earning UR cards that can transfer to UA miles, and it appears you already have at least 1 of them.

Regarding other uses for the Explorer card, I for one love being able to go through the first class security line, not paying for baggage, and being among the first to board the plane so I won't have to worry about space for my carry-on all for being a cardholder.

Just making you aware that not everything you post deserves to Laugh Out Loudly.
