A friend of mine says amex told him that he can't downgrade his Platinum card to the zinc card, as that has been discontinued. Is there any truth to this?

Zync card no longer being offered by AmEx.

(Or at least it's no longer on the AmEx website, and some reps have confirmed same.)

Was on the phone to cancel my BA card due to the AF posted on Dec. 1, so he said i can cancel the card and get refunded the AF

asked him to transfer the CL left on my account (only $500 cuz transferd already the rest last week) so he says that he cant , cuz the card must be 3 months, or cuz it needs to be not used 3 months(something like this) to transfer the whole CL,,

Did anyone hear of this??

Without another AmEx:
--Up until 60 days one can get full refund of $450;
--After 60 days, one can 1) get an exception, 2) downgrade to a lower-fee card or 3) apply for another card and then cancel Platinum to get fee prorated,
With another AmEx:
--Up until 60 days one can get full refund of $450;
--After 60 days, you can 1) the above first two options, and 2) get the fee prorated.

Is "without another amex" only referring to other amex charge cards or all amex cards like spg?
