I have a Chase Sapphire Preferred and now want to get one of the INK cards. I also want to make sure I keep my Chase exclusives with the extra points because I have the Freedom card and a Chase checking account. What is the best way to avoid the annual fees after the first year on the Sapphire and on the INK?

You can either downgrade them (not sure if can downgrade INK Bold) to a non fee card or call them up and ask for a retention bonus. Or you can transfer the CL and close them while getting new cards.

Can I transfer my UR points from my Freedom card to either the Sapphire or the Ink so I can use them for airlines?

Yes. With an Ink Bold and SP (not regular Sapphire non-preferred). Just a suggestion...read the first post of this thread.

so i just hung up from chase - i wanted to transfer my CL from my explorer to my club and shut down my explorer. they said first i an only transfer partial money and second i would take a hit on my credit score if i shut it down. can anyone confirm this?

How much CL did they say you would have to leave over? $500?

Just paid off my SP statement, wanna make a 3bm with chase but noz yet only after the next round of paying off my statement (Cuz gotte give some time since last round)

So was thinking of asking now just for a credit increase to use for leverage for the next round, What do u guys think?
1. is it possible to get without any pull?
2. can i HUCA if the first guy says NO?
3. if not possible without pull, is the pull the same as applying for a new card?

Any more Info, from prior experience?

And thinking the same to do with Citi! is it any different from chase?

1. No. It is a soft pull.
2. Why not? (unless they soft pull even for asking? But I highly doubt that)

I understand but they told you in order to transfer CL and cancel the Explorer you would need to lose 7k CL and then close the card?

they said if i want to transfer the cl W/O closing i have to leave over 7k
if i want to close the card i would get a pull (soft)

I did it a while ago when I didn't know what a credit score was (on a Cap1 card)...haven't done it recently so cant be much help there. I'm sure there are pros and cons to doing it.

Got it. What number are you calling? Credit reallocation? Because I have had many times an Explorer card under 7k CL.
