To the experts out there -

If I did a 5bm (or 3bm and 2bm on same day) for 3 Personal cards (Amex Delta 30k, Citi AA Amex 50k & Citi AA Visa 50k) and 2 Business cards (Delta 40k and Premier Rewards Gold 50k), how likely is it that I'd get approved for all five and how many credit pulls would it be?

Should I split them up over time?

Should be 2.

1 for the Delta consumer,Delta biz, and PRG

1 for the Citi AA AMEX and visa.

Be warned that recently a lot of people haven't had success with the citi 2bm, only getting 1 approved.

But if you do it, don't call reconsideration, just let it play out.

If I was going to do a 2bm with for Business Gold 50k and Business Delta to save a pull, is it worth waiting for the 75k Gold but get a second pull (one now for Business Delta, another later for Business Gold)?

I recently got my first credit card, it is the basic, non rewards, capitol one MasterCard. That was all i was approved for being it was my first card. I would like to get a rewards card but i dont want to apply again because if I am not approved i really don't want the hit on my credit. Does anyone have any ideas how long i should wait to apply for a different one or know which cards i am be more likely to be approved for?

Just a small point... the credit pull for the application is what will ding your credit, not the rejection itself.

You can ask them to upgrade your card so it earns rewards. Just give them a call. YMMV, worked for me.

Yes. What you do is if you have a visa call up and ask them to change it to a WMC. Then apply for visa.. Call recon and tell them you'll close the WMC to get the visa approved.

IME - convert your visa into a WMC and then apply for visa - probably won't get instantly approved but can fight to have both at once (many have been able to do that), or in a worst case, close the WMC to open the new visa (that is what I had to do).

Some noob questions-

What bonuses can I get for the amex platinum?
If I was targeted for amex platinum will it be easier to get bonuses?
If I have a targeted offer, is it guaranteed that there won't be a pull?

Browse incognito.

Being targeted or pre-approved means zilch. Same pull, no guarantee of getting the card, and no better chances of a bonus.
