Hello again guys,

I attempted to get two Amex cards (BCP and Biz SPG) and was approved for both. One was immediately approved and one was put on hold, but they were both approved eventually (by checking the amex approval link). I also signed up for two chase SW cards both Biz and personal. However, both of them were not immediately approved. I called chase and they said wait, is that normal??

Should I call them again, now?

OK, I HUCA'ed - mind you the two apps were placed a week ago, I was away for the past week, and I placed them on my way out of town. May not have been the greatest timing, but the SW apps were supposedly going away.

Anyway, I finally spoke with someone - who told me one was declined and one was still in process! Declined! I have never been declined! They were happy to pass me to someone who could help, but they were gone already for the day.

So:

1) Once declined - forget it it cannot be reversed?
2) I will call back tomorrow - but is there any hope on either the declined or still processing?
3) Finally, is this the end for me and chase? Is a decline writing on the wall? My UR count is high and I want to keep the relationship! I have been using them for as long as I have a card on my record, I think.

No, IME there is no "give-up" with Chase. I HUCAed for 2 cards for over a month until they finally approved them. Just keep calling.

I did it in less than a year. It is slightly more difficult to churn, though.

Question,
I want the amex business simply cash, but there's no sign-up bonus. Any reason not to get the starwood business instead (Dan, please don't tell me,"just get both". I don't have any amex yet, and I'm doing one personal and one business), and then downgrade to the simply cash after spending 5k and getting the points. Any reason it won't work to downgrade starwood to simply cash?
