Has anyone had any luck with the TD Bank Cash Rewards Visa? They're a smaller bank, but its one of those cards offering 5% cashback on pretty much everything for the first 6 months.

So I have had the Chase SP card for a little over a year. I was charged the $95 fee at the beginning of February of this year. I wanted to downgrade my card to the reg Sapphire card and get the refund of the fee so I contacted Chase through the SM. Since it is still within 60 days of the fee being charged I assumed this would be no issue. The rep messaged me back saying that they could not reverse the charge. Any ideas?

DROPR - It will get refunded automatically
(piece of advise - downgrade to Freedom not Sapphire)

Thanks. So I just downgrade and it'll happen? Btw I already have 2 freedom. Why not downgrade to sapphire?

If you're still with in 60 days, yes.

Thanks. Just got off the phone with them. Seems what they meant when they said they wouldnt refund the fee was that they wouldn't refund the fee and also allow me to keep the SP - something which I knew already but figured I'd give it a shot and ask about. And thanks for the advice about the Freedom. That's what I did. I guess if I need any of the benefits of Sapphire I'll just have my wife sign up for a new SP. Thanks.

You can't upgrade from Sapphire to Sapphire Preffered, just sign up for a new SP and you will get the bonus.

I didn't personally try it yet but I don't see why it should have a negative effect.
