Haven't signed for a new card in over 3 years, have Mileage Plus Explorer for over 3 years. AF is about to hit on this, and I am thinking of getting back into the game.

What cards should I go for? No plans to travel soon. Home airport is Sacramento (SFO for international). Would like to travel to India within a year or so. I was thinking SW to get CP, and Sapphire? Other better recommendations? With no AF is preferred, but willing to pay AF if getting better cards.

Is the Walmart MO thing still working with Simon mall Visa GCs?

Oh, and would prefer to have a card that offers lounge access (better if it allows guests for free).

Thanks.

Your ideas sound good, the 2x SW for CP, CSR which has PP with unlimited guest. CIP should be on the radar soon.
If you have a need for the MPE then you can downgrade and get the bonus again on that, or just downgrade.
I'll tell you later

Thanks for the quick reply.

What is CIP, sorry searched but couldn't figure out. Why do you say should be on the radar soon?

Doesn't CSR has $450 AF? That's steep especially since I might only use the PP once.

So, you are suggesting that I can downgrade MPE, and then sign up again for MPE and get bonus again? Why downgrade and just not cancel? Will downgrade count against 5/24 rule?

If cancel MPE/downgrade, is there a time limit I need to wait before signing again to get the bonus?

Also, is the Walmart MO thing still working with Simon mall Visa GCs?

Thanks.

Ink preferred should be on the radar as the SUB Is 80k, plus it won't count against 5/24

AF is $450 but that's how you get PP access with guests, the Hilton Surpass from Amex has 10 annual visits with 2 guests for $95 AF

Downgrade because why cancel, downgrade will not count toward 5/24.
You'll have to wait just a day or 2 for it to show as the other card on their system. As long as you didn't get the SUB with 24 months.

Just got auto-approved for both CSP & CSR. Now, to meet the spend requirements..please point in the right direction.

Also, which card should I downgrade to my MPE card? Dont want to pay AF. Why not just cancel, is it confirmed that downgrade doesnt count towards 5/24 rule?

Quick question:

With Sapphire Reserve, do I need to do something to get Priority Pass Lounge access or just show the card and get in?? I will receive the credit card tomorrow, and might be traveling internationally next weekend.

Thanks.

Thanks, any idea how Mong it takes to get it? And if it can be expedited somehow??

Another Q regarding the travel credit of $300, if I am booking airline ticket, does that meet this requirement?  And, if I spend $4100 (spend req is $4000), but that includes $300 for travel spend, and the I get travel credit for $300, does it still count towards spend requirement to get bonus?

Around 2 weeks, you can expedite it, I'm not sure how long that will take, they should refund you 2 uses on you CC annually as well.

I know this topic has been covered somewhere but I've not located the thread.  Looking for ideas on how to quickly meet the spending threshold to get the bonus miles.  I'm applying for a Delta AMEX and the fine print states the the spend is not valid for "gift card purchases".  I was thinking of just buying $3000 of grocery store gift cards but sounds like that may not work??  If someone can point me to a thread, it'd be greatly appreciate.

For example when making a purchase in shop rite your credit card has no clue if I bought a chocolate bar or a container of milk or 5k worth of gcs, it counts as a regular purchase in most instances..
Don't try to be someone else , be who you are because everyone else is taken.
