@Jasper44
Which number did you call? Try the number  at www.dansdeals.com/wiki then click on recon numbes

I  called Citi: 866-606-2787 (Account Analyst), Citi: 888-201-4523 (New App Approval Status) and Citi: 800-763-9795 (Credit Dept.). Nobody can seem to transfer me to the right person. Should I just keep calling until I get transferred to the right person?

Lol...very cute!
You can probably also deduce the expiration date if you want to start spending but the 3 digit code will be more of a challenge.

yup, I forgot to get them to expedite the Sapphire but they did expedite the CO and UA for me... I think I just have to learn some patience :)

Nice, sounds like it's targeted.

$300 is actually 30k UR which can be transferred to a Chase Sapphire Preferred account if you have one. That will allow for transferring these to BA/CO/Hyatt etc.

You can start spending before the card is activated?

Once you have the card number can't you just call the activation number and enter it?

Citibank Hilton Honors 40k after 1k spend but NO ANNUAL FEE EVER!. Could it be this is the only credit card out there that you get a signup bonus (a nice one at that) with no annual fee at all?

And it comes with lifetime silver status, so you can get VIP rates.

Chase Freedom has no fee and is giving up to 30k points as a sign up bonus.  And if used right (the chase trifecta) can be one of the best point earning cards out there.

Just beware, the 40k Hilton points is not worth as much as 40k in most other programs.  They are known to have bad award rates.

I wouldn't waste an AMEX hit on that card when there are far more lucrative cards to be had.
Then again I wouldn't waste a Citi hit on it either, but Citi offers aren't nearly as lucrative once you are locked out of AA cards.

"AMEX: 60 days for a full refund.  Pro-rated refund after 60 days."
Someone told me that canceling after 60 days you will only get a prorated refund if you have another active American Express card. I dont think that is correct but can anyone confirm for sure?

same situation as BAHayman. Applied for 3 cards: sapphire, united 30k, freedom and was denied all 3 because I already have a continental chase which is 6 months old.  called recon twice and both times, they said they can't approve the united cc because of limited credit history ( 2 years) and 5 cards. They keep mentioning that I applied for 3 cards at the same time and that is considered a credit risk.

The 2nd time I called recon, they knew about the 1st call because of a note in my file.
