Now that southwest went down to only 25K, what do you guys suggested as an alternative for the third app (after Preferred and Hyatt)? Continental? United?
Continental

Re: DansDeals Credit Card Links And FAQ's.
« Reply #341 on: August 23, 2011, 05:41:23 PM »
Hi Dan, i hope you can help me here. I applied for 3 Chase cards using the 3bm and just received the letters in the mail that i was rejected for every one of them, CO,UA & Freedom.

The reasons: Credit Report did not score enough points...
Strange that on one letter it said my score is 707 (based on FICO-Experian. Range 300-850) and the other said my score is 661 (based on Chase Bank. Range 100-990), i don't really understand the discrepancies here... whatever

Primary Factors:
-Not enough accts open long enough
-too many requests for new credit or reviews (i think almost all from Chase, attempting to open those same cards)
-balances are too high compared to credit limit (they looked of course right before i paid my bills... thank you)
-too many recently opened accts. (oddly enough, from ...Chase)

I thought i'd get approved because i WAS approved for the BA card a few months ago..
BTW, i pay ALL my bills on time.
Amex approved me for 2 cards on that same day.

So my Q. is, A) Which of the numbers below should i call (1st  2nd 3rd..)?
                 Chase: 800-432-3117 (Application status)
Chase: 888-270-2127 (Application reconsideration)
Chase: 877-781-3109 (Card combining & card type changes)
Chase: 888-245-0625 (Credit Analyst reconsideration)
Chase: 888-622-7547 (Chase Executive Office)

B) What would be my best argument to get reconsidered?

Thanks to anyone who thinks they can help. :-*

I really want to grab the CO (50K) and UA (30K) while i can..

 :(

Welcome to the forums!

I just use the number to the credit analist reconsideration and got a card approved. My argument was that I was just approved for the BA card  in May, so I'm abviosly credit worthy and I don't carry any balances. I also proactivly told them that if they
Don't want to extend more credit to me at the moment, they can take some of the credit line from my BA card. After a few minutes hold I was approved for the new card with 5K CL.

I called the Credit Analyst reconsideration, i gave all my arguments and asked them if they can just consider at one card -CO, i offered to transfer credit from BA.. and they put in a reconsideration and came back a few minutes later telling me the primary reason they cannot and will not approve me is because of insufficient time since my last acct. approved (ie; BA card in May) and they would like to see how i handle that acct., so even though i have that acct. since May and all paid on time, they're still afraid of giving me too much credit, and i just have to give it more time and keep on applying (thus giving myself more inquiries and hence never getting approved ::) )

Ever since then, every time i call the Reconsideration dep., they say i already submitted a reconsideration request and it was denied ...they cannot do anything....

So my dear colleges, any way you can help me here, i really want to take advantage of this CO 50K offer, anything else i can do to get this card approved?

Any possibilities Dan?

Thanks in advance.

No it is not a fake site, your connection to experian is encrypted but they are including a resource via an unencrypted connection (in this case its this script).

So how to know when it is really unsafe and when it is just parts that are not encrypted?

Did you try any other numbers?

Otherwise, I'd make at least one purchase on you current Chase card every month to show activity, and re-apply in another 3-4 months.

If you are accessing a site and you see a certificate (meaning you are connected to an https site) then your connection to the site itself is encrypted. You can usually click on the https and get information about the certificate and connection.

Chase: 877-781-3109 (Card combining & card type changes)

I called the number. A recording said that the number is no longer in use and to use the number on the back of the card.

I spoke to a representative and asked to shift the credit lines of my three chase cards (slate, amazon.com, and cash plus rewards) to three 'new' cards (continental, united, sapphire preferred). She said that she can change the account types, but I wouldn't be considered a new user for the cards and wouldn't get the sign on bonuses.

So... the only way to get the sign on bonuses is to start from scratch and open up new cards? It's a shame... I have tens of thousands of dollars in 'useless' credit with chase. :o

Apply for 3 new cards and then you can close old cards and shift over credit to get new ones approved.

It's interesting that Gmail seams more protected on Firefox than on Chrome - At least FWIU from clicking on the http symbols.

They both have the same encryption, Chrome just does a better job at letting you know when it has other unencrypted resources.

I found that some of the labs cause the unencrypted resources to be loaded IME.

I wasn't trying to be a smart-a$$ or anal about it... was clarifying in case there was something else called "Club" that I didn't know about.
