It means you call up AMEX and tell them that you heard there is a better offer they are giving, and you want to be matched to the better offer.

did a 3 BM Citi cards for da wife: 75k visa, 30k visa, 30k amex. got instant approval on all 3 browsers. only 2 paper approval letters and their corresponding cards showed up: the 75k visa and the 30k amex. i presume they saw apps for 2 of the same visa cards and nixed one of the cards? whaddya think?

check that: i did 2 apps for the 75k visa and 1 for the 30k amex...they likely saw two identical and only issue one? is this a YMMV as others have gotten 2 of the same sent out?

Amex plat gold and spg imho. Use the codes for plat and gold. Good luck!

Nah I don't think they officially stopped. Of course ymmv but based on what I'm reading I would take the risk and give it a shot. Persistence with amex is the key

If you applied with that promo and got that app approved I can't see why it wouldn't be attached. Spend $1 and you'll know for sure though.

i applied for amex platinum and didn't get approved. they sent me a letter that i have to fill out a form from the irs and send in last years tax return, something i can't do... any advice?

I did and it was, so hopefully all will be well. Like you said, after spending $1, I'll know for sure, just would rather not have to fight for it on the other end. As they say, an ounce of prevention = a pound of cure.

it seems from some other threads that the matching on amex is over, so I dont want to rely on those promos- so otherwise what would be the best 3BM non chase (ive got now a freedom, saphire, continental, BA, starwood, Amex Gold charge card)
