Well you have a lot of learning to do.
Normally the way it works is you ask a question and then wait for an answer. No need to ask every question 3 times. I think that may have something to do with the reason you're being ignored.
Ever thought of that?

Wow, you really don't stop.
You are entitled to a free report from experian, not score.
There are no strings attached.
Didn't they start giving out score as well, or is that only if you were declined?

Experian giving out free scores? Not AFAIK. someone CMIIW

From experian? Its a relatively new rule/(law?) that if you were denied based on your score the cc company is required to tell you your score.

Other than that I'm not sure wat your friend is talking about.

I hope this is the right place to ask: I signed up to citiaadvantage and got 100,000 miles for spending the minimum on visa and amex. I'm new to this credit card game and need some advisement. My questions: do I cancel the cards? when should I cancel (does it make a diff now or closer to the end of the year?) I am paying the annual fee for an starwood card, should i be? Whats better? keeping the starwood open or the citi and racking up miles. I travel at least twice a year (sukkos and pesach) and want to travel with miles. when can I open up a new credit card to get more miles? How long should I wait? I know I am such a newbie but if you'd like to take the time and share your wealth of knowledge with me, it would be very much appreciated! (I have a good credit score and I always pay on time.) Thanks a mil!

1. You should call around your 6-month and 12-month anniversary dates and say you're considering cancelling, see if they'll give you a retention bonus, at the 12-month see if they'll refund the $85 (sometimes they require 5 purchases for that, which is pretty easy to do).

2. Before cancelling, try to downgrade to a free card so you can keep the credit line open. Or, if you have another Citi card, at least see if you can get the credit line on the Aadvantage  moved over to the other Citi card when closing it. With some issuers (e.g. Chase) having an existing/active credit line with them is leverage when trying to get approved for a new card. If necessary, the current CL can either be partially transferred to the new card, or in a worse-case-scenario, you can offer to close the current card to get the new application approved.

3. I'd keep the SPG since you get 25k miles for $20k spend and you also get the Amex (purchase/warranty/return) protections.

4. How long to wait depends on many variables and how much you want to push the limits and risk getting declined and/or having to call reconsideration many times and/or (albeit rarely) risk adverse actions (paperwork inquiries/shutdowns) from the issuers. Browse/search the CC forums and you'll learn a lot.

Glad you too the advice on DDFB and posted on DDF :)

Hey asherO did I wait long enough for the answer on the autherized user question? :) TIA!

I'll make you a deal for your next ten questions (within reason). I'll answer all of them if the following criteria are met:

1. Your questions are written reasonably clearly.
2. You don't get an answer within three days.
3. You don't bump the question(s) during those 3 days.
4. You post in the appropriate forum/thread.

You can ask questions whenever you'd like, I commit to (BL"N) answer the first 10 as long is you follow the aforementioned rules (including no-bumping).

Thanks you are really kind.
And if the authorized user question can count as part of the 10 that would be nice.

That's called a bump, so you lost that question. I'll answer your other past questions as well if you don't bump them for three days.

Don't mention it for three days and I'll answer it. My point is to demonstrate to you that waiting and practicing etiquette will earn you respect and get your questions answered. Repeated bumping will just piss people off and cause them to not take you (or your questions) seriously.

When closing a card to avoid paying the annual fee, are you able to move the CL over to another card so as not to lose it completely?
