An inquiry from within the last 3 months is the most damaging. Within 6 months, somewhat less. More than 6/12, usually overlooked.

Regarding the Spg Amex:

Starwood Gold status for spending $30K is this per year?
What about platinum or other statuses?

The 2 Stay/5 Night Elite credit. 3rd night free at Sheratons. Aren't Starwood resorts same as Sheraton? Different amount if gold vs platinum status?

From what ppl write here spg gold isent all that special and can be had by asking nicely, i dont think that you can get plat without actually getting enough nights credited.

I have the following Chase cards: UA MP Select, Sapphire Pref Visa, Hyatt, Freedom Visa. I would like to apply for the Ink Bold and Ink Plus at the same time. What are the chances of getting approved for both? Can I try for a another consumer card as well? My last app with Chase was 6 months ago. Thank you.

Assuming you have good credit and not too many recent apps you should be good. I'd try for one more biz card from chase not a consumer card as USUALLY Chase is 2 pulls if doing biz+consumer. Much more info is in.

I just got the amex business platinum card.

I see it has the "open savings" benefit that I've forever been hearing about.

On american express website, it says I have a choice of 2/4 points per dollar, or 5%/10% discount.
How do I choose my preference?

Change it from Visa to MC or v/v or change it to Freedom or Sapphire non-preferred.

Thank you! I called and they told me that switching to the MC will not get rid of fee. Will have to switch to non-preffered.
I asked are you sure?
He told me that "I know this card backward and forward" and that switching to MC will not help.
PLease advise

so I just tell them to switch me to MC, and the fee will disappear?
