They shouldn't, unless you apply for a line of credit by using their overdraft protection feature.

Im trying to decide whats the best hotel credit card to sign up for...
Id like to travel to exotic places throughout the world for 5-8 days at a time (on points or p&c).
I would have gone with SPG but their high CAT hotels arent worth the points IMO.
What is the best hotel brand value out their (for point redemption) that are 4-5 star hotels.

Hyatt has the best C&P now by far. Get a bunch of Hilton cards. There are so many of them.

But isnt HIlton awful for redemption?
also, I plan on getting the united club card. Is it worth it to get the hyatt card or is it better to go for the spg card. (i know the united card gives you hyatt platinum). and does SPG give you a status match from hyatt?

While Im here, i may as well ask. Is the United club so much better than the United explorer?

Hyatt platinum is worthless. I suggested hilton just for the sign up bonuses and keep one for the valuable gold status which you can get a Hyatt diamond challenge with. Spg will give you a platinum challenge from the Hyatt diamond. I am not sure if they will from Hilton Gold or Hyatt plat.

What about hyatt diamond? Also, I was told by a friend that Mariott status is awesome even if redemption isnt great. Is that true? (It might be worth sticking to UR points to book hotels and then use the statuses to get better rooms)

It is hard to get Marriott status.

I just applied for the Chase united 50k mile card on Monday August 4th. I'm thinking of applying for the Chase British Airways Visa. Is it too soon to apply? How long should I wait?

I can open some on my name and some on my husband
We both have a lot of cc and have churned many.

Which one can I churn with it being opened or closing and reapplying in a week or so?

amex: plat mercedes benz(havent done much with amex in a long time since I dont have luck getting the bonus miles.

Hi all,

I was hoping to get some insight on my current standing below and what my strategy should be as far as what to close, downgrade, retain, and/or transfer credit limits (just in case I have a run-in with recon), so I could make room for my next AOR this week.  I met all thresholds, and I barely use some of the other cards.  Also, what cards should I get for this AOR?  I was looking at Ink Plus and Marriott, but I would like another 3 or 4 as long as it's worth it.  Are there any great bonuses lately besides the Marriott one?  And, since the latest ones I got in April were with Chase, Citi, and Amex, should I look at other banks for cc's?
