Well he made it home BH. Bad experience for him and he never wants to fly through there again. No great loss.

No other Jews on the NYC flight. No other frum jews on the AMM leg. No clue why they bothered him. But as reported earlier. Tefillin tossed around. Siddur on the floor. Questioned about what they are. And thats it.

They dont see teffiln every day and possibly some kiruv rechokim might help.

In Egypt my tiffin was opened, I explained diligently what it is, its holy and needs to be respected, they respected it.

Imagine someone walking thru an airport with these boxes wrapped in belts while your the security officer.

If they disrespected him, threw down his items or damaged it,  it would be a different story and in such a case action is required.

Initially you made it seem like a violent anti semitic event which raised a few eyebrows since no one experienced anything remotely similar. I wouldnt even have blamed it on a rogue agent, as IME, there are always many people around and presumably would stop him.

They started questioning what they were and it was explained to them thats they are religious articles and then a supervisor is called over and they are tossed around thats a bit more than a rogue agent. And throwing the siddur around as well. Maybe it wasnt intentionally antisemetic. It was definitely intentionally disrespectful. They let him take prigat drinks that he mistakenly left in his bag from the previous lounge stop but questioned the tefillin. I say they knew exactly what they were doing.

In general the atmosphere there is totally not anti semitic.

While our cousins might not love us to put it down in a nice way, they are pretty much respectful in AMM.

Im sure that is true Coming off a TLV flight to catch the NYC flight basically should see it several times a day.

I definitely agree its not as bad as i thought it was. From what i could tell he was only frum jew on the flight which is not what i expected. So lesson learned. Probably gonna send him back through IST

Yes. Tefillin were just tossed around. Dialing down other info. Sounds like TSA style treatment all things considered.

Just had a very pleasant flight ORD-AMM seat 1A (1C was empty so that was nice)
No issues at immigration (I wanted the stamp)  or at security.
Sitting in the Crown Lounge now awaiting flight to TLV.
