Does anyone know if amex lets you keep the 50,000 points and $200 airline credit if you cancel within 60 days and don't pay the $450 fee? How long does it take amex to credit the 50000 points once you charge the $1000 threshold?

The bonus points post 6-8 weeks after hitting the required spending threshold.

Yes, I have cancelled before the annual fee even posted and 'kept' everything.   In my experience (only 2 data points) the Platinum bonus posted relatively quickly after meeting the spend threshold - within about a week.

You're lucky, it's been almost a month since I met my spend threshold for my Amex Gold PR card and my bonus points haven't posted yet :/

CSRs have the power to move points to your account almost instantly. Try calling their MR department.

Make sure you actually use the airline credit.. buy gift cards...pay for luggage..etc and yes as long as your points post they will let you keep them AS LONG AS YOU HAVE ANOTHER AMEX CARD OPEN THAT IS ENROLLED IN AMEX REWARDS...  and if you plan on transferring them to an airline for example it would have to be a gold premier for example..not a blue card...  be careful.. you don't want to lose all those points.
