does anyone know if the amex transfer has to be from your own amex account or can someone else with amex mr points transfer them into your account and you'll still cash in on this offer?thanks!

Yes I believe so. As long as the delta account is eligible for the offer it should be fine no matter whose account the amex points are coming from.

When trying to transfer it says each 1000 mr will get 1000 DL miles, that's how it works? will it post later ?

This promotion won't show up at Amex's website, as long as you registered your Delta account successfully, you would get the points. Usually immediately. No worry about this.

However, you can still earn up to 40% more miles on Membership Rewards® points transfers through June 30, 2011.

Receive a 40% mileage bonus for single transactions of 100,000 points or more and a 25% mileage bonus for single transactions of less than 100,000 points.
Does this mean that if you have already transfered you can still get the 40% bonus but not the 25k medallion?

Clarification:
My understanding is that there are two current promos being run, the 25%/40% which is open to everyone, and the 50%/25K MQMs, which is open only to accounts without previous MR transfers.

Delta sent the email about the "MQM promo" to a number of people who weren't eligible. They then sent out an apology email to people who weren't eligible, and tried to save face/push SMs with the other promo.

IOW, I believe the MQM promo is still good for first time MR-DL (first time into DL account) transfers.

If you sign up for the new 50% bonus before you transfer then yes.. you should.. and as long as you never transfered into that account before

If it lets you register someone reported that it worked even with previous transfers.
