Amazon unveils Prime Wardrobe!

Amazon has unveiled Prime Wardrobe!

It pretty much explains itself. You can try before you buy, by choosing several items with free shipping of course, and free return shipping. There is a discount incentive to keep more items.

The question is ( i need to find a new phrase) how do these prices compare to the normal prices? Are they raising prices somewhat to cover the discounts?
Also,
given they had free returns on clothing, is this just a repackaging of that? with no prepayment?

Not sure that this belongs here. I think @as2 had it in the right place in GD. This is bigger than the standard meh amazon deals.

This is a snippet I got from a WA chat that has never wronged me...

Quote
*Amazon strikes again* Amazon Prime *Wardrobe*, a try before you buy concept. (You pick out three or more items (of clothing, shoes & accessories). All shipped free. You have seven days (from when it arrives) to try the stuff on and decide what you want to keep. The items you want to return can be dropped off at any UPS store or you can request free pick up. As an incentive to keep the products, Amazon is offering 10 percent off if you keep three or four items & 20 percent off if you keep five or more.)
Seems that they want return Shipping to be hassle free.

With regards to the board, I specifically didn't put it there, one, because nobody sees it, and 2, because this isn't a deal, it's news.

Amazon is basically reducing the 30 day free return shipping on apparel to 7 days, in return for a 10% discount if you keep 3 items or more.

It does not seem to include 3p sellers as it only available on ~1 million items. This will hurt 3p sellers, time will only tell us how badly.

Can't wait to see the Prime Wardrobe splitting threads to save the 20% or the popular filler items.
Buy a $200 coat, add 4 cheap items to save $40.

The prices will stay the same I'm sure. The 10% discount is Amazon passing on the savings of economical shipping and higher profits for multi-item purchases. And yes, they are actually making the return shipping policy worse on apparel and jewelry, from 30 days to 7.

Return shipping for clothing has always been free, they're actually making it less convenient by reducing time to return.

I think the chap of PW is that you don't have to pay for it upfront. standard buy and return in 30 days will still apply

Agree.

Disagree about standard 30 day return policy, I think Amazon would have mentioned it.
Though I didn't notice about the "no upfront cost" which frankly is pretty worthless when you still have to pay up within 7 days.
