i was trying to access my acount and i was told i have the wrong username/password when i called starwood they told me my account was frozen and i need to email accountactivity@stawoodhotels.com i asked them whats going on they just replied, here it is
"Thank you for your recent e-mail message concerning your Starwood Preferred Guest account. We welcome this opportunity to assist you.
The Member Account Integrity department placed a temporary hold on your Starwood Preferred Guest Account while we investigate the member to member Starpoint transfers on your Membership. According to the terms and conditions of the Starwood Preferred Guest program members are able to transfer Starpoints as long as both members reside in the same residential address. According to the history on your Starwood Preferred Guest Account, the address on your membership has been changed to match at least one other member’s address in order to process a member to member Starpoint transfer. Your membership was frozen while we reviewed your account history as this activity violates the terms and conditions of the Starwood Preferred Guest Program. At this time, your Starwood Preferred Guest Account has been released and you are now able to access your account via the spg.com website.
Section 2.5 of the Membership Eligibility Rules states, “Starpoints may be transferred between two Program accounts only when each member resides at the same residential address with the exception of Starwood Vacation Ownership Preferred Guest accounts. Starwood Vacation Ownership Owners (“Owners”) may transfer Starpoints between two designated Starwood Vacation Ownership Preferred Guest accounts, regardless of whether the accounts have the same residential address. Members may not transfer Starpoints to/from an account that has a P.O. Box, APO or SPO as the address. Members may be required to provide proof of residency at the address on their account prior to being permitted to transfer Starpoints between two accounts.”

For all future member to member Starpoint transfer requests, you are now required to send in proof of residency for both accounts. You may send the proof of residency to the Program Services department of the Starwood Preferred Guest Program via fax at 519-633-8557 or via email at research@starwoodhotels.com. Unless you comply with the terms and conditions of the Starwood Preferred Guest Program, we will terminate your Starwood Preferred Guest account and those accounts you transfer Starpoints from or to and/or take other appropriate legal remedies.
