Got matched to Hyatt Diamond and this is how I did it:)
1) Sent a screen shot of my Hilton Gold account
2) They declined stating that they need the activity on the account to be > 0
3) Transferred 1000 Amex MR points to Hilton account
4) Sent the screen shot again with the activity
5) Again got declined stating that they need the account statement showing the stay activity
6) This time I quoted their email which clearly stated 'activity on the competitor account must be greater than zero.'
and replied back
7) Got matched finally!

I have a question though: Do they mail the upgrade certificates or these will reflect on my online account. Unfortunately I am moving in a week to a new address.

Would like to thank all the members (esp Dan and Asher) of this forum for this!
I realized the same thing too, that as long as you have greater than 0 activity in your account you will get the Hyatt Diamond trial offer as I got mine today too.

Does anyone know the difference between a standard room and a regency/club room?

Is there a way to use the diamond suite upgrade certificate on a priceline reservation? I know it is not possible but if someone has had success in doing so in the past...

Also, do you get diamond member benefits (late checkout, free wifi etc.) on a priceline reservation?

Officially suite upgrades aren't allowed on PL bookings, but you can try emailing the hotel or manager and asking them to apply it. They might.

I do believe that you will get free wifi etc. I did with a PL booking at the Cleveland Hyatt arcade a couple years ago

Off icially they don't allow the upgarde on Reward Redemptions either. So i made a reservation then called the Gm at the hotel.  He said if the rooms available he doesnt see why not.  I then called Gold Passport and told them that the hotel said I could do it. they said since the hotel said ok they will do it!  Try that with priceline

Yup, totally at the discretion of the hotel.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

You will get suites if you are diamond at the time you apply for the Hyatt card.

Dan,

If I attain Diamond Trial Status right after I get the Hyatt card, will that in any way prevent me from getting the 2 suite upgrades, or does it not make a difference?

thanks!

The suite upgrades you get. but not the free nights at a suite.
