I did a challenge and stayed 9 nights, not 12 and it has now ended. Anyone have any experience with them granting status with less than 12 nights? Is it even worth it for me to try if I wont be staying in hyatts more than a few nights over the next year? Or would I be able to do another challenge when I have a bunch of stays lined up again?

I think you can get it extended. You can do challenge again. I think 1 a year.

Just wanted to confirm a few things after reading a bunch of this thread (anyone up to wiki'ing it a bit?):

1) Currently there is no benefit to doing the Diamond Challenge before applying for the Chase Hyatt card. Although in the past this would give you two suite stays instead of just two regular nights, this is no longer true- is that correct?

2) The suite upgrades that Diamond Challenge gives you are only for completely cash or points and cash stays, and not able to be used on the free nights- correct?

3) If the above two are correct, then there is not really any connection between the Diamond Challenge and the Chase card? They're just two separate things related to staying at the Hyatt that can't really be connected?

4) Anyone have an idea if they're going to extend the Challenge again after Oct. 31?

#1/2/3 all correct, although depending on the hotel you may be able to get upgraded even on points by checkin. If there is an open upgrade chances are you will get it over someone without status..
#4. Are you asking if you can get it again once you get it in 2014 or if the program will be continued?

im assuming so as just recently I got denied for a match as I already had one but they said they I can try the 2015 program

I actually sent them the email on Friday, but they didn't respond until today. Should I escalate this or do they usually start a new challenge soon after the last one ends?
