Your account has to be diamond when you apply. They won't be suites. And unfortunately once that happened you should have saved the match to diamond for when you actually plan on using the nights so you would have had status during your stay.

Would love to go for this as I'm planning a trip possibly to Hawaii in the summer... just unsure of how to attain status... I only found a free Marriott Silver status once and hold SPG Gold bc of my Amex Plat, but not sure what I can do to attain Diamond prior to applying for my first Hyatt card...

but with hh points being worth less and less, which is the better card? Are 2 Hilton nights worth more then 60k Mr?

Citi is cheaper and worth more IMO

I was wondering when to do a status match from Hilton Gold to Hyatt Diamond. I have a trip planned for Oct time and have not made any hotel reservations yet. If I status match now, then make a reservation, the status will expire before the trip.

Question 1: Should I wait to status match until a month before the trip so I am a diamond member while travelling or can I do it now?

Question 2: Does status go by when you booked the stay or when you check in? Dan implied that it's at the time of reservation, but Hyatt seems to say it goes by time of check-in when I called.

It does. But might as well have by both.

Thanks. I guess I'll make the reservation soon but wait to status match till later. There's no reason to assume status match will go away, right?

Sorry is this has been asked before. I have HH and SPG gold, the SPG account with many actual stays. Which one is easier or better to match to Hyatt? Also how long does it take?

Only SPG plat matches. So I made your decision.

i tried matching hyatt from hilton gold buy they asked me for a statement with proof of an actual stay.. anybody have experience? Is it poss. To get the challenge w/o a stay?
