i believe it will because they give u full diamond status for 60 days that is what im doing as well

I dont see how that answers my question.

If I am not staying in the hotel then I did a challenge and got elite status for 60 days of which i didnt use it. So my question is, is there any benefit to doing a challenge if I am not staying there in the time the challenge is good for?

15 stays for plat, awarded only AFTER the required stays post.

so to confirm, hilton gold can get one hyatt diamond challenge....but what if you dont do the challenge do you get downgraded to regular hyatt status or do you get a higher level?

One more thing worthy of mentioning, even after the 60 day challenge, they only downgrade you to platinum, and the four suite upgrades stay in your account.
