« on: February 06, 2009, 08:47:49 AM »
Hi - I am getting charged by att to call international locations on my home phone - I cancelled this service and now need a cheap way to call Israel. What are my options? 1010 or prepaid calling?
As I live in oh I am stuck with att as they give unlimited local and ld for $40

I would highly recommend http://saycor.com/ its just 2 cents a minute to israel and no pin required, plus you can access your account online.

there is a calling card program called ringplus.net they give you totally free calling all over the world just set up an account the way they make money is on advertising instead of hearing ringing you hear advertisements. the other thing is that when calling an expensive number for instance an Israeli cell phone they only give you 5 minutes, although a Israeli land line they give you more time ist good for short phone calls, or if you want to be really cheap just keep calling back.

I would recommend calling Richie @ Jivetel - 718-551-9000. He can help you with many different calling options. When I was in Israel for 2 weeks he hooked me up with an american number that ppl had to call directly to my cell, and with an 03 number that I called from my cell when I wanted to call America. Rates are always different so I don't want to post here what he offered me but it should be pretty cheap.

I support OORAH by having the Kirby card.  They have local access numbers and low rates per minute.

See oorah.com.
If it's not fun, why bother?

Anyone have a list of the current best options for calling Israel? Currently using Keku, wondering if there's anything better out there?

landline: 1.4, cell phone: 2.9

The other option sounds interesting, though I usually make longer phone calls.
